HEALTH - HEALTH//DISCO

HEALTH, the noise quartet from L.A is set to release their remix album entitled HEALTH//DISCO on May 13. This upcoming piece feature remix versions of HEALTH's music from their self-titled released - transforming them to something a little user-friendly to dance floors. Featuring remixes by Acid Girls, Crystal Castles, Pictureplane, Thrust Lab, Narctrax and many more, seeing them reinventing and remixing the songs on their own preferences.

I'm not sure about you, but it reminisces back to the era when my 16-bit Super Nintendo was still in perfectly fine working condition. Super funky!

A comment provided by members of HEALTH in an unknown situation....
“This is not your typical remix album. Every artist on the record was hand selected and contacted by us with the hope of combining our sounds and musical ideas with those of electronic artists we admire, several of them doing remixes for the first time. It is not about market saturation or crossover appeal. It is purely about the music, and we are proud of it. This is an album, and meant to be listened to as one. The goal of this record is not only to present all these songs at once, but also to ensure that they are not forgotten in the constantly updating, content hungry internet music world.”

Tilly and The Wall - O

Didn't I mentioned a little sum' sum' on Tilly and The Wall releasing a new album soon previously? And here it is, the indie pop band from Nebraska will release O on June 7 under Team Love.

"O is Tilly and the Wall’s most cohesive, sonically experimental album yet. In addition to building a tack piano for certain songs, the band toyed with percussion much more than their previous efforts, recording Jamie’s taps through a variety of different amplifiers and floors to give each song its own distinct rhythm. With its massive dose of high energy and hip-shaking attitude, this album will remind you of you why you fell for Tilly and the Wall in the first place." - Fanatic.

The band released a digital EP entitled Beat Control was released earlier as a teaser for this upcoming album.

They impress me. Their beat controlled my entire body. Nothing too complicated. Simply just plain spectacular vocals on a catchy rhythm beat. A recommendation by the labourer.

DJ Nesh Heads To New Club

So we heard it was DJ Nesh's last night with Laundry Bar on April 12, therefore we thought we drop by and bid farewell to the charming R&B DJ before he move on to spin for his new employer, Euphoria by MOS. We aren't sure about the full particulars yet, but we sure to keep you updated on that.

Meanwhile, the resident spot for the Urban Politics night will be replaced by DJ Soya (we not too sure whether he still spins for Cafe Flam, but he was a resident there previously) continuing Nesh's musicology quest in bringing upbeat hip hop and R&B tunes to the loving people in Laundry. Swing by if you have the time.

Here's a brief recap on what happened last night. Nesh and Soya dropping some sick mad tunes for energetic people on the dance floor to groove. In the middle, Nesh invited Toronto's MC Vandal and Masia One for a freestyle session to hype up the party. Later on, Nesh did a little beatboxing demonstration to the crowd.
